Dear Water Protectors:

On January 18th, the Department of the Army published in the Federal Register its Notice of Intent to require an Environmental Impact Statement.

This is another small victory in defeating the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline.

The fight, however, is still not over.

While the EIS is exactly what we called for, we must ensure that it fully takes into consideration tribal treaty rights, natural resources, cultural and sacred places, socio-economical concerns, and environmental justice.

We need your continued support as this process moves forward.

  Here is something i wrote in 2015 and still true today. a miracle of some substance. Will americans actually vote for the candidate that delivers the best one liners. I think everybody was entertained by Donald Trump, who is the least democratically inclined candidate I’ve ever experienced. With Trump, we probably can dispense with the Congress altogether and he can simply issue decrees. I have no idea who would want to be his vice president, since we can probably dispense with one of those too.   The Supreme   Court is useless against him as is the Constitution. He’s figuratively and literally a one man show. But alas, he merely shows the fateful weakness in the american system because the one entity he can’t replace but must work with is the military and corporations. It was a love fest at the DNC the first night. Everybody loved Joe, Joe loved everybody. Even Hilary seemed love was in the air. Love, love, love.   Martin Luther King Day and Inauguration Day, MLK, DT. I saw where hundreds marched in my home town on Saturday to protest the Trump Presidency. I wonder who organizes these things. Why couldn't the anti-DT march forces join the MLK forces as a show of strength and solidarity? It's cold as hell in the east and hot as, well, you know, hell in the west.
