Democracy has always remained in its infancy stage. Thats due more to the fact that human beings themselves, even with the special power of having a positive, effective influence on our own survival, can't get past its built-in defects.

Those defects are 1. The inability to realize a consistent organizational pattern of non-aggression against each other. Authoritarianism and dominance are the two attributes' humans have not mastered nor attempted to eliminate. Violence is the mainstay of an authoritarian state (or state of mind). It doesn't take much imagination to determine what guns are primarily used for these days. It's not, like gun owners say, a right to defend oneself. It's as much about the murder of other fellow humans but even the illogic of power, such as the intentional massacre of buffalo or every other species, (including self).

The meek do not inherit the earth except in mythic ideology.

Thats not to say they shouldn't but to emphasize that they can't.

All institutions established by tradition and innovation contain essential authoritarian principles for their existence.

It is not within the framework of immature democratic institutions to challenge the status quo but to be historically retrofitted and modernized to complement and continue the authority state and mimic a pretense of freedom.

Although over the course of centuries the idea of freedom has always been saddled by the ideas of who is responsible, as determined by hierarchical and traditional powers vested in institutionalized authorities. As the centuries roll on, freedom is roiled in belief that it must be earned rather than a right of existence. Freedom should be universal, not governed by state, not by even community, religion, social beliefs ( nearly all precipitated by religious dogma).

This is created by candidates or choices that only reflect the options the system accepts within its limited parameters.

Two examples of this are in the defeat of Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush recent primary election in Missouri. In both these instances neither were represented or defended by the current Democratic administration. Huge amounts of money, much of it from AIPAC, the pro israel lobby were spent to defeat both Bowen and Bush.
