I was walking down the national mall in D.C

I was walking down the national mall in washington d.c. the other day and i suddenly realized this country is mine more so than theirs, the ones who have money, wealth, and have never suffered the pain of never having enough nor ever looking around and sayingbecause by looking around, at the black wall remembering the dead in vietnam, the world war two memorial, all the buses lined up, arriving and departing, like the body bags wherever they find themselves, tucked in some foxhole, oswampland, thats not your carolinas hometown, man, not deporting, all those veterans, and their families, who may have voted for them, only to keep embracing the sacrifices made, making sure its their country too. Bringing it back home

I have liberal friends, or acquaintances who say they speak up when they have to but when it comes to their friends and especially family, they remain quiet in order to maintain "civil". That's what's wrong with freedom of speech, or for that matter, any freedom, even democracy. We either are self-restricting or as in the case of democracy, only gripe if our choices, which have been restricted, are not that satisfying. Freedom of speech also becomes irrelevant at thanksgiving dinners, office water coolers, or in bars and social clubs where dancing or drinking are supreme. Sure, one can make alot of trouble for themselves by utilizing any of the above-mentioned opportunities to rant and rave about what anyone considers grave injustice in the world.  Since people need jobs, it's not too bright to be the only one at your place of work who wants to speak up about injustice. Of course, one can exercise freedom of choice by finding another job or just not working at all...

Climate change rejected, fast trains rejected, equal rights (a s in the amendment), abortion rights rejected, workers' rights (as in livable wage, immigrant rights, union rights), any kind of socialism (as in social security, as in health care, as in wealth equality, as in taxation,). All rejected or, at the very least, ignored or compromised by the main political factions. The fact of the matter is the left in america is a trojan horse to most of america.
